Roll-Over Protection Systems (ROPS)
Roll-Over Protection Systems is a structure whose primary purpose is to reduce the possibility of your personnel from being crushed or otherwise seriously injured should the vehicles in which they are transported in rollover.
Formprops’ ROPS provide South African companies from various industries with an option to increase the safety of their light and heavy-duty vehicles with a superior protection system that works in tandem with their vehicles existing safety features. ROPS allows your employers to outfit their vehicles for safe operation in unconventional environments.
Formprops specialises in the design, testing, manufacturing, fitment, repair and certification of Roll-Over Protection Systems for personnel transport vehicles in hazardous environments such as forestry, mines, construction sites and farms.
One of the greatest needs identified for rollover protection is associated with occupants of light utility vehicles (SUV’s, Bakkies and Vans) because of the vehicles higher centre of gravity, which increases the vehicles rollover potential. The potential for a light-duty vehicle rolling over increases when laden with cargo or if the vehicle is travelling offroad and on mines.

Roll-Over Protection Systems (ROPS)
ROPS is a system whose primary purpose is to reduce the possibility of your employees from being crushed or otherwise seriously injured should the vehicles in which they are transported in the event of a rollover. All mines now require ROPS to be fitted to vehicles.
Falling Objects Protection Systems (FOPS)
A FOPS is a falling object protection systems which are designed to protect the occupant in a vehicle from objects falling objects, such as rocks or debris. FOPS are not intended to protect the occupants in a vehicle in the event of a rollover.

Professional Rubberising for Bakkies and Trucks
We offer rubberising for bakkies and trucks. Rubberising protects your bakkie’s load bin area from rust and corrosion. Polyurethane is sprayed onto the load bin and bonds directly onto the surface to form a permanent, water- and airtight protection against rust, abrasions and corrosion.

Formprops was established in 1999, and we are Level 2 BEE rated. Our head office is based in Emalahleni (Witbank), Mpumalanga, but we distribute and service throughout South Africa.
Formprops also manufacturers aluminium field service canopies, mobile workshop solutions and toolbox solutions for vehicles as well as Roll-Over Protection Systems (ROPS), Fall On Protection Systems (FOPS) and Internal ROPS.
Various industry vehicles use our standard field service toolbox canopies. Our light-duty ROPS is one of the lightest and safest ROPS/FOPS in its category and fits onto all bakkies. Our light-duty ROPS accommodates our field service toolbox canopy.
In keeping with our desire to provide a fully comprehensive service to our clients, Formprops also offers rubberising of bakkies, mine compliant vehicle rentals, dropside load bins, as well as aluminium works, welding and metal sheet working. How does a Roll Over Protection Systems differ to a FOPS?
A Roll Over Protection System (ROPS) and a FOPS tend to have similar design features, which can mislead people into thinking they have a ROPS. However, a FOPS is a falling object protection system and is only designed to protect the occupants of a vehicle from objects falling from overhead. It is not intended to protect the driver or passengers in the event of a rollover.
